Change is inevitable. Whether we like who we are today or not, tomorrow we’ll be forced to change. To look for stability is to look for death in every sense of the word: death of emotions, death of the soul, death of the mind, and death of the body. Stability births tyranny and enslavement, and I'd go as far as saying that it’s an enemy to humanity. Constant change and evolution are what keep life alive, and it’s what keeps humans human. But to force change also leads to loss; we must learn to experience it as it comes, to understand it, to manage it, and we must learn to have empathy all! the while being selfish (unless our destructive, obsessive need for external validation—often confused with love “agape’—goes unchecked, which will lead us to forcing one of the two on ourselves or on others).
